An underwater wonderland
The protected waters and pristine shallow reefs of Inhaca Marine Reserve teem with life. Expect to encounter angel fish, butterfly fish, bat fish, goldies, flute fish, surgeons, squirrel fish, boxies, and emperors. And who knows, maybe you’ll spot a lionfish lurking in the shadows? This renowned snorkelling reef is famous for its vast schools of kingfish. At peak high tide, hundreds of juvenile bigeye and green-spotted kingies sweep across the reef, often shadowed by powerful giant kingfish patrolling the deeper water below.
Look out for triggerfish – the largest and most prolific being the titan trigger. Another must-see is the school of 500+ juvenile green spotted kingfish that congregate off the most northern rocky point, at the end of the pushing tide.
Sizzling surf and turf
What better way to end a magical day on the reefs than with a traditional beach braai? If the snorkelling was anything to go by, prepare for a grilled food extravaganza! Enjoy lip-smacking seafood, kebabs, corn-on-the-cob, and an assortment of meats, all grilled to perfection. And wash everything down with an ice-cold drink. Take a moment to let this all sink in... because it doesn’t get much better than this!
