Luxury Catered Villa, Santa Maria, Mozambique

This was a once in a lifetime experience. From the huge variety of activities available to the amazing staff, especially the food. The whole experience was incredible. Would highly recommend it!

We had an amazing stay at Balistidae. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Excellent service, great attention to detail, and just the most beautiful place all round!! We would definitely return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

There are very few places on this planet that can deliver a holiday quite like the one we experienced at Balistidae. Access to destinations as breathtaking as Santa Maria is, in itself, something truly special. This spot is heaven on earth! We spent a week at Balistidae and I wish we never had to leave. Not having to decide what to eat or what to do made it a proper holiday for the moms! I miss Jabs, Sibs and Dulce’s restaurant worthy cuisine. Each meal was a highlight. Marcos was always ready to suggest a fun activity to suite the tide or weather and executed with precision. Thank-you everyone at Balistidae for making this a family holiday we won’t easily forget.

We had the most amazing experience at Balistidae, it is truly paradise on earth! The food was out of this world, cooked by the most accommodating and talented chefs. Our kids were welcomed with their own food each day too which was just the cherry on top for us parents!\nThe rooms are so beautiful, showering in the outdoor shower with a view was just incredible.\nThe activities available including the beach lunch set up, paddling through the mangroves and deep sea fishing all orchestrated by Marcos were something none of us will ever forget.\nThank you so much to the entire team, we are already reminiscing and dreaming of our next visit!

What an unforgettable trip! The house was beautifully kept and the chefs made every meal a highlight — especially the seafood. We had so much fun with all the activities: e-biking, a booze cruise through the mangroves, fishing, tubing and relaxing on the private beach setup. Even when the weather wasn’t perfect, Marcos always had a great suggestion ready. He even took the kids for a drive in the game vehicle, and showed us around Santa Maria, which was such a treat. Thank you to the whole team for making our holiday so special — we can’t wait to come back!

Having been to Mozambique before I was familiar with the gorgeous beaches and warm water, but the house and staff at Balistidae made the trip even better than expected! There was not a meal we ate that wasn’t 10/10 with some of the best seafood I have eaten in my life. The house was always kept in perfect condition and all our requests and needs were kindly met by the staff. Marcos was brilliant - taking us on adventures like mangrove kayaking, water skiing, fishing and day trips out for meals on the beach - they really pulled out all the stops making it a truly unforgettable expirience!

We had a glorious week at Balistidae. The villa was perfect to accommodate our group, the views across the bay and the living areas were just perfect. We spent hours on the pool deck and around the fire pit. Marcos was a super star who had great suggestions for activities including fishing, snorkelling, tubing, ebiking and kayaking. Jabs cooking was absolutely top notch. Peri peri chicken, prawns, crayfish, calamari, freshly caught fish - done on the open fire - was food heaven. Thanks to them, and the whole team, for making our stay so special 💙
